Incorporating somatic and cognitive elements, specific hypnotic practical applications will be described, including an integration of conceptualizations from the fields of neurofeedback and Eastern meridians. Using a mindfulness based approach combined with information based on physiology and neuroscience, Dr. Hart will share personal case examples illustrating the use of hypnosis in implementing the Trauma Resiliency Model. An experiential group component will be provided demonstrating the process of effecting a bodily shift, returning the body and mind back to balance, using explicit focusing techniques.
During and at the conclusion of this session, the attendee will be able to:
-> Utilize and refine specific hypnotic skills to stabilize the human nervous system;
-> Explain how specific interventions can reduce and/or prevent symptoms of traumatic stress and anxiety;
-> Describe common responses to trauma from a biological perspective; and
-> Discuss, demonstrate, and experience the application of several practical skills to reduce symptoms of stress and trauma.
