“Historic” doesn’t need to mean unchanging, especially when it comes to
gardens. Examine Royal Oak, New York City, Millennium Park, Chicago, and a
private American Renaissance water garden to see how these places have been
sensitively transformed, adding contemporary sensibility, and even humor.
